Shoreline Park Meet

So, since my multimedia class has ended the blogging project, i won't be updating this as frequently. however, i'm going to try to update this for our meets as much as i can. so, today we had a meet that Dos Peublos High School hosted today near shoreline drive in santa barbara, near the pier. it was a relatively flat course. today was cold, and somewhat windy as well. we ran in our grades and top 20 of each grade got a medal. of course, no surprise, melissa and erick both medaled in their age group. overall, it was a pretty nice meet. not the best we've had, but not the worst either. :) i'll be back later, hopefully, with tri-valley league number 2. :)

Song I'm YOURS by Jason mraz

So, straying from my normal topic, i'd like to introduce my favorite song by jason mraz. here are the lyrics:

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
And now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
Nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love
Listen to the music of the moment maybe sing with me
I like peaceful melodyies
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved love loved love love

So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed
I guess what I'm saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

Well no no, well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love
Listen to the music of the moment come and dance with me
I like one big family (2nd time: I like happy family)
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved love love love

I won't hesitate no more
Oh no more no more no more
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved, I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

No I won't hesitate no more, no more
This cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours, I'm yours

So, this song is basically somebody telling somebody else that they're theirs and to live life the simple way, enjoy life, and don't make things so complicated. it's a good song! XD

The Best Slushie Run Eva

So, yesterday, we had probably the best slushie run ever, although we were really missing people like big kubota and lauren colomy. :)

so, varsity boys and various others here and there ran to la mirada before looping back towards chevron gas station (santa monica exit) varsity girls and a few others did craven's loop (loop down cravens and around kim's market) and everyone else ran slightly past santa monica, turned around and then ran down santa monica to meet everyone at the gas station. i happened to be in the group that ran to cravens! very proud because i kept up with my bff buff scotton and we ran together the entire way. next time, ima run with erick cruzzz. (not. haha)

i had a mango apple slushie. trinidad martinez had a mix slushie of cherry bomb, banana, coke, and mango apple. noe gomez had an awesome banana slushie. all in all, it was a great day.

and thank you to our coach silva for everything!

TVL Meet #1

Yesterday's meet was not the best meet our school has had, but it was fun. we competed against oak park, oak christian, la reina (all girls) and fillmore. our top 3 girls on varsity (our team) were melissa tovar (surprise surprise, hehe) kathy delk, and annie kwong. the top 3 girls for junior varsity was nancy aviles, amy avila, and dani madden.

i am not quite sure about the boys results, but i do know for sure that erick cruz and jose sanchez were first and second on our team.

i shall be back later with actual team to team results.

it was a good meet, no one got lost (as i had feared) and no one tripped or died or was paralyzed, or attacked by rabid squirrels, all went smoothly.

we will not have our next meet until next week...

since we had a tri-valley league meet yesterday, we think we shall go on a slushie run today! they are the best runs ever, but we still have to run to the chevron gas station to get the slushie. haha.

so, yepp. i'll be back with more results! (hopefully)

Awesome Stuff

So, as I have been telling everyone for the past forever, we have a meet today, that we are hosting. the course consists of running lots of loops around the school, running half laps on the track, and then the phrase 'left right ghetto left.'

it's all cool, really. yesterday we did a light workout, a dyke (mile) for a warm-up, then drills on the field followed by 200 yard sprints. the end of the race that will occur today has a 200 yard straight sprint to the finish line, so we did those.

i hope that no one gets lost while running today. the course isn't that confusing, but it involves lots of running around in the same circles. it's kind of tedious really. once i start, i'll be wistful to end it, which i guess is a good motivation to run faster to get to the finish line earlier then usual. unfortunately, that involves moving your legs faster, and i'm not usually in such a mood to do so. especially when you've already run a mile and you have it in your mind that you have 2 more to do.

i'm sort of racked with nervousness (is that a word??) because i'm running varsity, and i have never run varsity ever before. i can only hope that i don't a.fail and b.come in last.

so, yepp, that's it for today, i shall return tomorrow with intel on results and the whole melissa-tovar-and-erick-cruz-got-first-place-again dealio. wow, lots of hyphens right there. haha.

okey doke, later for now... o.O

Funday Monday Summary

So, the fact that yesterday was Funday Monday, pretty much sums it up. We ran a half dyke (around a half mile) for a warm up, then we went over the course for wednesday. (how do you spell wednesday?? wednsday...) we ran the last 2 miles, the 2nd and 3rd mile of the course. melissa and erick being all hard-core of course. david chamlee and buff scotton (my friends and also team members) left because they had a 5-page english book report/essay of some sort to do, only to find out the next day, that it was a 4 page or less essay.

anyway, to continue some results from saturday, we now also know that erick cruz came in 33rd, which is pretty gnarly. erick cruz himself is pretty gnarly.

so, we're all looking forward to hosting the tri-valley league meet number one tomorrow, but not that stoked about running in it. haha. i'll be back...later...at some point in my lifetime. but this is it for today! XD
